Beveling Fins 1

aluminum tee bar

Starting with the upscaled Quest Intruder, I started using this technique to bevel fins.

The method employees an aluminum sanding tool called a "Tee Bar" from the Applied Design Corporation and their adhesive backed sanding strips. The same thing could be accomplished with an aluminum right angle, the tee bar simply has more surface area to grip.

aluminum tee bar with sandpaper   Tear off about a 6 inch strip and then tear the same strip in half lengthwise. Place the two strips as shown to form a right angle sanding surface.

The fin edges are then placed into the corner of the Tee Bar, which is then slid the length of the fin's edge.
