epoxy fillets applied to rocket

The diagrams on the previous page, show the technique in a perfect world. In reality, the process is a lot messier, even more than these photos suggest.

For 30 minutes, I will continue to add small amount of epoxy to the ends and shape them before the epoxy begins to cure.

Have a straight pin handy to pop bubbles in the epoxy.

A close up of the tapered leading edges of a PML Tiny Pterodactyl. This photo is the best example of the gritty, oatmeal quality the epoxy has at the outer edges of the fillets. This will later have to be sanded down.

Generally, I pull the masking tape up pretty quickly, around 30 minutes to an hour after applying the epoxy. Then I clean up what I can with as paper towel dampened with alcohol.

Note the difference in color between the top fillets and the sanded lower fillets.
